The Department of State Services, DSS, on Tuesday said it can’t discharge, Omoyele Sowore, convener of RevolutionNow Movement from its detainment office since he might be wrecked by a vehicle on out.
DSS representative, Peter Afunanya made the exposure while tending to writers in Abuja.
Afunanya stated, “We can’t simply discharge Sowore and request that he go on the grounds that he might be wrecked by a vehicle at the entryway.”
Calling attention to that Sowore’s legal advisor, Femi Falana, was at this point to approach and get him from their office, Afunanya said the Senior legal counselor had not been to the central station of the administration since the extremist was conceded bail.
He kept up that the mystery police was following authoritative strategies by demanding that Sowore’s sureties approach for legitimate documentation.
“We regard rules and requests of the court and there was never a period the Director-General said he would not discharge Sowore,” he said.
Sowore is currently held in custody of the secret police against court order.
A Federal High Court in Abuja had recently ordered the release of Sowore alongside Olawale Adebayo.
The DSS is yet to comply with the order and claimed that no surety had come to take Sowore on bail.
Few weeks ago, a group of protesters led by Deji Adeyanju alleged that they were given N1m to stop the protest demanding Sowore’s release.
The DSS, however, said it will release Sowore if his sureties come forward for documentation.
