Kogi Election update: SDP governorship candidate called for cancellation, PDP reject result

On Saturday 16, November, was Kogi state election and it end up with some irregularities. This was said by the SDP governorship candidate of kogi state Natasha Akpoti.

APC thugs attacked voters, electoral officials, and destroyed electoral materials in 780 polling units in Kogi central, Natasha said. The SDP candidate added that the independent National Commission (INEC) to cancel  the poll.

The Tribune stated that Akpoti in a petition addressed to the chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu, alleged that the Kogi election was marred by intimidation, violence amongst other irregularities. The SDP candidate said that the APC used thugs to attack voters, electoral officials, and destroyed electoral materials in 780 polling units in Kogi central.

When speaking to the press, Natasha said

“What happened in Kogi Central and other parts of the state is a far cry from a credible election. Voters were killed, electoral officials took to there heels because of fear, ballot boxes were destroyed and burnt in Okene, Adavi, Ajaokuta, Ogori Magongo and Okehi local government areas and other parts of the state”

He added, this is uncalled for and should be put an end to Nigeria politics.

Meanwhile, Peoples Democratics Party governorship candidates Musa Wada, also rejected the result released by INEC so far.
